Systems Engineer
REPORTS TO: IT Director
LOCATION: Norcorss, GA
DEPARTMENT: IT Services
SUMMARY
The System Engineer (SE) will report to and work closely with the Director of IT. Primary responsibilities will consist of provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. In addition, the SE will help manage the full technical environment including systems administration responsibilities across a wide array of technical services.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Coordinate system development tasks to include design, integration and formal testing
- Determine system specifications, processes and working parameters
- Oversees all transitions into production
- Develop and complete actions in system specifications, technical and logistical requirements and other disciplines
- Create and maintain programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution
- Manage and document system configurations
- Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Must have a minimum of 4 years working experience and intimate proficiency with Microsoft Exchange 2003 (or beyond) administration and troubleshooting in a large-scale multi-site environment
- Must have a minimum of 5 years working experience and expert knowledge of Active Directory administration and troubleshooting
- Must have experience supporting mobile email devices such as Blackberry (and other, similar technologies)
- Must have 3 years working experience supporting, maintaining and administering core Microsoft technologies including Windows Server 2003/2008
- Sound working knowledge of Internet/Intranet technologies including security features
- Proficient and familiar with MS Office Professional Suite including the ability to fluently use Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Working experience supporting, maintaining and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005
- Must have experience with implementing and maintaining complex VMWare environments
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 5 years related field experience or an equivalent combination in education and work experience
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT
Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice. No regular travel required.
